Before the storm

This is, somewhat unnecessarily complicatedly, a piece somewhat inspired by a story written by ~aeran, which is in turn a fan work on ~demonallie's comic Two Rooks.

Why did Juniper change out of his work clothes into something equally formal and uncomfortable? How exactly was he convinced to make pancakes? On which note, where are the ingredients, the plates, and the other fifty-one cards? And why was I so tempted to make Dea's tie red when it is most definitely not supposed to be?

I do not know.
